MUMBAI: With Christopher Nolan at the helm of affairs, nothing can possibly go wrong for ‘Man Of Steel’. As the film gets set for a worldwide release on 14 June, there virtually is no competition from the biggies of Bollywood. Apart from ‘Fukrey’ and ‘Ankur Arora Murder Case’ releasing this Friday, one can well predict the box-office king this week.

When ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ released in 2012, it brought down the house with the amazing response. Within three days of its release, the film managed to collect close to Rs 20 crore net in India. The film not only broke the box-office records but also did not let other Bollywood films sustain a smooth run at the box-office.

And it’s that time of the year again, when ‘Man Of Steel’ is set to shackle the box-office. Both these films have that one name making the brand soar greater heights. Christopher Nolan. The man who directed the epic finale of the Batman series, returns as a producer with ‘Man Of Steel.’ And there is no denying that with Nolan and Superman back in action, there’s much at bay, more importantly cash registers at the box-office.

A insider close to the film revealed to us, “The film is the biggest film for Warner Bros in India. ‘Man Of Steel’ is releasing in 800 screens in all, 500-3D and 200-2D. It’s also being dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.”

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ was released in 700 screens, so this is the biggest film opening from Warner Bros that one will see. Additionally the film releasing in 3D has already generated huge hype and movie buffs can’t wait for 14 June. In Mumbai, the film will be premiering at the new IMAX screen at PVR Cinemas apart from the IMAX multiplexes.

PVR – VP Marketing, Arun Nair spoke to Business Of Cinema, “We’re expecting a great opening for ‘Man of Steel’, similar to ‘The Dark Knight Rises’, which was a big India release. As far as IMAX is concerned, we haven’t announced the showtimes yet but there is a steady buzz for the new theatre and for this film as well.”

Advance Bookings for the Christopher Nolan produced ‘Man Of Steel’ are on in full swing.

Cinemax, Deputy GM , Corporate Communication and PR, Girish Wankede tells us, “’Man of Steel’ is a great film, and will open to huge response. Interestingly, it will be premiered in the new IMAX screens @ PVR Lower Parel on Thursday, and I expect the occupancy to be a full 100% in IMAX in opening weekend. In regular screens, it should be no less than 90%. This is one of the biggest films of the year”

Another highpoint of ‘Man Of Steel’ is the stellar star-cast the film boasts of. Featuring Oscar nominated actors, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Academy Award winner Kevin Costner and directed by Zack Snyder, the man behind ‘300’ and ‘Watchmen’, ‘Man Of Steel’ surely promises to be an experience.

Well did we really say that there is any competition? Certainly not, when ‘Man Of Steel’ is set to rule the box-office. Let the party begin.
