‘Kai Po Che’
No one expected much from ‘Kai Po Che’, but when it premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, everyone expected big things. Dealing with friendships that fall apart due to political differences set against the backdrop of the Godhra Riots, Kai Po Che told a universal tale of friendship in a way only an Indian film could. Many Foreign Language films at the Oscars have a political background (Chile’s last year’s entry ‘No’ is such an example), but will ‘Kai Po Che’ make it through?
