After the much horrifying cyber terror that hacked Sony Pictures Entertainment database, and left a lot of private information including those of the employees in a state of turmoil, the Chief Co-chairwoman, Amy Pascal has decided to resign from her post.
Amy Pascal is known for being one of Hollywood’s most high-profile female studio executive. The recent cyber attack on Sony revealed some embarrassing private mails of Ms. Pascal, which were circulating over the social media. In which she was also seen commenting about US President Barack Obama, which had put her in a difficult situation.
Reportedly, Amy Pascal had made remarks about Barack Obama’s presumed preference for black-themed movies. For which she had apologized unconditionally. According to sources, the decision of quitting her job is her personal choice and Ms. Pascal was neither pushed to leave nor begged to stay.
The 56-year-old businesswoman will now be starting up her own production house. “I have spent almost my entire professional life at Sony Pictures, and I am energized to be starting this new chapter based at the company I call home,” Amy Pascal stated. But her relations with Sony Pictures is not ending completely as she has accepted a four-year production deal that involves her making some of Sony’s biggest planned films.
