The Martian Trailer: Matt Damon Stranded On Mars

The-Maritian-TrailerAfter Christopher Nolan raised the bar with last year’s Interstellar, audiences have been eagerly waiting for more and more space related movies. The recently released trailer of The Martian is exactly what everyone’s been waiting for – another awesome space movie! Starring actors Matt Damon and Jessica Chastain who played pivotal roles in Interstellar as well, The Martian’s trailer gives us a summary of the plot based on the best-seller science fiction novel of the same name.

The Martian sees the struggle of an astronaut who is stranded on Mars after surviving a deadly storm with his group. During the process of emergency evacuation, astronaut Mark Watney is left behind as his crew had no other choice. While everyone on Earth assumes that he is dead, Mark is on his own mission to survive on Mars with supplies enough to keep him alive only for 30 days. From there on the trailer shows how the brilliant scientist works on two things; 1) Growing food and finding a way to survive on Mars and 2) Building a device from whatever scrap is left to send a SOS message to earth.

Funny part is, Interstellar saw actor Matt Damon who played the role of Mann, stranded on a frozen planet only to be later rescued by Cooper (Mathew McConaughey). While internet has already started making comparisons between Interstellar and The Martians, we think The Martians leans more on the scientific side of things that could actually happen when you’re stranded in space. Competing with Oscar winners Gravity and Interstellar isn’t that easy, but with the star studded cast and the interestingly new concept, The Martian has a fair chance of outshining them both. Only time will tell if it actually does!

The Martian also aims at spreading the message, ‘Every human being has a basic instinct: To help each other out.’ Ridley Scott fans are also of an opinion that The Martian’s trailer gave them vibes similar to his previous film Prometheus. Directed by Ridley Scott, The Martians also stars actors Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Michael Pena, Kate Mara, Sean Bean, Sebastian Stand, Donald Glover and Academy Award nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor. The film is set to hit theaters on November 25, 2015 in USA.
