BLACKPOOL: A few days ago Madame Tussaud’s Musuem in Blackpool announced that one of Britain’s most famous movie stars – Robert Pattinson’s wax figure was to arrive from Berlin.

Madame Tussaud’s General Manager, Matthew Titherington, had said: “Robert Pattinson’s fans are world famous for their loyalty and fantastic enthusiasm for their superstar and his arrival in Blackpool will hopefully bring some of that ‘RPatz’ fever to the town. We are really looking forward to welcoming his fans to Madame Tussauds Blackpool and can’t wait to see their reactions when his figure is unveiled.”

The wax figure of the ‘Twilight’ star, who has a huge fan following, not limited to only females, was received by a crowd screaming in excitement. But cheer soon turned to curiosity and then disappointment, as the statue barely resembled the drop dead gorgeous looks of the star who plays Vampire Edward Cullen.

“The statue catered to every small detail of Pattinson’s features – from his wild hair down to his stubble, but failed to get an identical look,” reported Sun online.

Apparently, Tussaud’s’ wizards of wax have dressed the figure in Pattinson’s trademark suit jacket, jeans and skinny tie. But his hair is too dark, his skin the wrong tone, and his face an odd shape. Hundreds of fans, who stood outside to get a glimpse of the statue when it was unveiled had their hopes blighted when they realized it does not quite hit the mark.

The statue, which is said to have cost 150,000 pounds and took four months to get ready, looked like a bad replica.

It stands amongst the Best of British collection which includes the Beatles, HRH The Queen and the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge. Jetting in for one month only, the figure will make Blackpool his home until the end of November.

Meanwhile, Pattinson is all set for the release of his final in the ‘Twilight’ franchise: “Breaking Dawn 2”, coming to theaters soon.
