Blair appointed alternative promotion VP, Universal Republic Records

Mumbai: Dennis Blair has been appointed Vice President of alternative promotion for Universal Republic Records, announced Universal Republic Records promotion and artist development senior vice president Joel Klaiman.  "Dennis is a great addition to our promotion staff.  He is dedicated and relentless when it comes to spreading our music.  His impact has already been felt with the recent success of Flobots, Rehab, Jack Johnson and 3 Doors Down and the entire company joins me in congratulating him."

 In his news capacity, Blair will report to Klaiman.  "I’m grateful to Klaiman for the opportunity to play a role on one of the best promotion teams in the business," stated Blair.  "Monte and Avery Lipman have assembled a great roster of artists.  Their leadership continues to inspire a staff that is second to none when it comes to delivering great music.  I’m thrilled to be going to bat everyday for one of the most respected and admired labels in our industry."

Previously, Blair was RCA Records senior director of Rock/Alternative Promotion.  At RCA, Mr. Blair worked with such groundbreaking artists as the Strokes, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Velvet Revolver, My Morning Jacket, Kings Of Leon, and others.
