Bobby Valentino inks agreement with EMI Global Music Services

Mumbai: R&B recording artist Bobby Valentino has entered into a distribution, marketing, promotion agreement with EMI Global Music Services – EMI Music’s third party and independent label unit.  EMI will distribute Valentino’s new Blu Kolla Dreams imprint in the US and Canadian markets as well as provide marketing and promotion support.

The imprint’s first album will be Valentino’s new record, The Rebirth, slated for release later this year.  The Rebirth is a follow up to his first two albums, which have sold a million units to date.

"Blu Kolla Dreams starts a new business venture inspired by those who have worked to achieve greatness and make their dreams come true," said Blu Kolla Dreams imprint Co-CEO Courtney "Colt Luv" Stewart.

"I have been blessed to be in the music industry for over 10 years, and my past endeavors have been great learning experiences," said Valentino. "I really enjoyed my time working with [Disturbing Tha Peace] CEOs Chaka Zulu, Ludacris and the DTP/Def Jam staff.  With Blu Kolla Dreams, I have the opportunity to step out on faith and use the knowledge and experience that I have gained to take my career to the next level."

Bobby V has been busy in recent months.  In addition to appearing on Lil Wayne’s smash album, he has also appeared on several mix tapes, including on Yung Joc’s latest ladies anthem Tonight.  He released an EP, Come with Me, a collaborative effort with producer Bill Jabar. Valentino has also built his international fan base through several concert dates in the UK, Germany, Japan and Dubai.

"We’re excited to work with Bobby and Courtney to launch Blu Kolla Dreams and collaborate with Bobby on the next stage of his career," said EMI Global Music Services senior vice president and general manager Dominic Pandiscia.

Bobby Valentino got an early start in his recording career, when at the age of 13 he became a member of the group, Mista, best known for the hit single Blackberry Molasses, released on Elektra, and later as a solo artist on the Disturbing Tha Peace/Def Jam label.  After releasing Special Occasion, Valentino left DTP/Def Jam on amicable terms and started Blu Kolla Dreams.
