Christopher Nolan to direct sci-fi film Inception for Warner Bros

MUMBAI: The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan has re-teamed with Warner Bros Pictures to direct a new sci-fi film titled Inception.

Nolan also wrote the original screenplay for Inception, which is described as a contemporary sci-fi actioner set within the architecture of the mind. The film will be produced by Nolan and his longtime producing partner Emma Thomas, who served as a producer on The Dark Knight.

Inception will go into production this summer and is being planned for release in the summer of 2010.

Warner Bros. Pictures Group president Jeff Robinov said, "Chris Nolan is a visionary filmmaker who continually raises the bar with each movie he makes. We are thrilled to be collaborating again with him and Emma on this exciting new motion picture."

Nolan was most recently honored with a Directors Guild of America (DGA) Award nomination for The Dark Knight. He also shared in nominations for a Writers Guild of America Award, with Jonathan Nolan and David S. Goyer, and a Producers Guild of America Award, with Emma Thomas and Charles Roven.
