MUMBAI: DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. has appointed DreamWorks Animation’s head of litigation and Technology Law Andrew Chang as general counsel.
Chang has been with DreamWorks for seven years and has held his current position since the company’s IPO in 2004. Katherine Kendrick, who currently serves as General Counsel, has announced plans to leave the company when her contract expires at the end of 2009.
"As he has done so successfully over the past seven years, I am confident that Andrew will remain a leading force in propelling DreamWorks Animation into the future when he joins our executive team as General Counsel. Andrew was instrumental in negotiating a number of the company’s key strategic partnerships and alliances – including those with HP, Intel and Technicolor in India – and possesses the skill set required to maintain DreamWorks Animation’s position as a true leader in technology with a strong corporate infrastructure," said DreamWorks Animation president and CFO Lew Coleman.
Chang said, "It is truly an exciting time at DreamWorks Animation as the company grows and diversifies at an unprecedented rate. I welcome this new opportunity to serve in a greater capacity and look forward to working with the company's deep bench of innovative and creative talent." Prior to joining DreamWorks Animation, Chang held the position of vice president of legal at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, Inc.
