MUMBAI: EMI Music, has teamed up with the creators of Finnish-German science fiction movie, Iron Sky, to sell and distribute Iron Sky-themed merchandise, around the world.
“Our previous movie, Star Wreck, was seen by over eight million people all over the world. This has built Iron Sky, a large and a very active fan base, who can’t wait to hear more about our upcoming movie. One of the driving forces of our production, is keeping in direct contact with our fans, both in social media and in our collaborative movie creation platform, Wreckamovie. Involving the fans in creating our merchandise and fan products is the logical next step,” said Iron Sky director Timo Vuorensola.
Fans will be invited to create their own ideas for T-shirts, pins, mugs, badges and other products. The best of these designs will be turned into official merchandise and their creators will be awarded with money, fan products or movie tickets or other suitable ways as appropriate.
The Iron Sky products will be handled worldwide by EMI’s merchandise division, which was established in April 2009 and expanded in December 2009 with the acquisition of Loudclothing.com. EMI now sells and distributes licensed merchandise product in more than 20 countries around the world.
