Mumbai; Endemol group CEO Ynon Kreiz will deliver a keynote speech at the 46th MIPTV (30 March – 3 April 2009, Cannes, France).
Kreiz commented: "MIPTV is a pivotal event in the TV industry calendar and 2009 is set to be the most challenging year our sector has faced in over a decade. In this climate, content creators will need to be bold and innovative in order to achieve growth and I’m very grateful to have this opportunity to share our plans for Endemol’s global business."
Reed MIDEM director of television Paul Johnson added: "The Endemol group has an incredible record of creative formats with worldwide appeal that have been setting the standards in TV production for almost 15 years. Kreiz is steering Endemol on a new path which includes strengthening the core business as well as Endemol’s continued growth in scripted content, digital media production/distribution, expanding Endemol’s geographic reach and diversifying into new areas of activity. Undoubtedly, Endemol’s keynote will be one of the highlights of our MIPTV conference programme next year."
Kreiz took over the reins of Endemol on 1 June. Prior to joining Endemol, he worked as an investor in the media industry. Between 2005 and 2007, Kreiz was a partner at Balderton Capital (formerly Benchmark Capital Europe), a venture capital firm, where he served on the boards of Setanta Sports and Codemasters.
Between 1997 and 2002 Kreiz was chairman and CEO of Fox Kids Europe N.V. (FKE), which he co-founded with Haim Saban in 1996. Under Kreiz’s management, Fox Kids became one of the fastest growing pay-TV channels in Europe and the Middle East, broadcasting to 56 countries in 17 languages.
