MUMBAI: Film Movement, the North American film distribution company has launched the Film Festival Channel (FFC), a nationwide Free Video on Demand (VOD) channel that is sponsored by Stella Artois and is being carried by Cox, Verizon FiOS TV, Comcast Washington State Market, Mediacom, Armstrong and Bresnan Communications.

The Film Festival Channel is a Video on Demand movie service exclusively featuring award-winning, independent and foreign films from the world’s leading festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Toronto, Berlin, Sundance, SXSW and Tribeca. The Film Festival Channel is like having an entire film festival delivered to film fan’s doors. Every month the Film Movement Channel will present four feature-length and four short films. This 10-hour package will have a refresh rate of 50 per cent and early titles include, Alexandra’s Project (from Australia, the winner of 4 awards including Australian Film Critics Circle Award for Best Screenplay) and also an Official Selection at the Telluride, Toronto and Berlin International Film Festivals, Hawaii, Oslo (from Norway, a winner at the Norwegian Film Festival and the Amanda Awards, the Norwegian Oscar) and The Middle of the World (from Brazil, an Official Selection at the Toronto, San Sebastian, Seattle and San Francisco International Film Festivals).

“We are thrilled to offer film fans yet another way to see our continually expanding catalog of award-winning independent and foreign films. We look forward to future partnerships with cable, telco and satellite companies throughout the US,” said Film Movement vice president of business development Meghan Wurtz.
