GDC signs D-cinema deployment deal with Japanese film distribution company

MUMBAI: GDC Technology has signed a digital system agreement with Toho Co., Ltd, a Japanese entertainment company involved in film distribution.

Under the non-exclusive agreement, Toho will pay usage fees for any of its exhibitors signed up with GDC and its partners. The agreement solely applies to equipment installations carried out before 31 March 2014, and is limited to Japan.

“The VPF agreement with Toho is a major accomplishment for GDC, as it is among our first in a series of Japanese deals with distributors. This is just the beginning of GDC’s foray into the Japan market, and we are looking forward to partnering with more and more exhibitors as part of our program. Renowned for cutting edge technology, GDC’s digital cinema products simply belong in Japan, and we are proud to help make it happen,” said GDC Technology founder and CEO Dr. Man-Nang Chong.
