MUMBAI: Maike Haas has joined Sony Pictures Entertainment’s International Motion Picture Production division as vice president international production, Europe.
The announcement was made by Columbia TriStar Motion Picture Group vice chairman Gareth Wigan and International Motion Picture Production president Deborah Schindler. In her role, Haas will oversee the Berlin-based European operation for the division, identifying and developing motion picture productions, with a focus on German-language and Pan European films.
Schindler said, “We’re thrilled that Maike has rejoined Sony. Her relationships throughout the European market and her fantastic story sense make her a unique and perfect choice for this role.”
Wigan added, “The European market as a whole and Germany in particular is a critical target for the international production group and we are excited to have Maike leading the way.”
Haas joins Sony after an eight-year stint at Buena Vista International Germany, where she served as co-production and acquisitions manager.
