Jaman, Dreamachine sign 42 film deal

MUMBAI: Jaman.com, an online community for world cinema has announced the completion of an initial 42 film distribution deal with Dreamachine, an independent sales, production and financing house.


 


Under the agreement, the definitive works of the world’s top foreign film directors will all be available, online in the US, via Jaman’s online community that delivers feature-length international and independent films directly to viewers around the world. The collection will include films such as Veronica Chen’s, Agua and Royston Tan’s and 4:30.


 


Says Jaman CEO Gaurav Dhillon, “Foreign films and international directors dominated all key categories of the 2007 Academy Awards, People’s Choice Awards and Golden Globe Awards, yet the traditional US film distribution and marketing system consistently under serves world cinema in the mainstream US market.


 


The long-term Jaman and Dreamachine 42 film distribution deal will kick- off with 35 US Internet premiers including It’s Winter, Rafi Pitts (2006), Agua, Veronica Chen (2006), Bashing, Masahiro Kobaiashi (2005), Takeshis’, Takeshi Kitano, (2005), 4:30, Royston Tan (2005), Towards Mathilde, Claire Denis (2005), Foreign Lands, Walter Salles  (1996), The Promise, Jean Pierre, Luc Dardenne (1996), Rebels of a Neon God, Min Liang Tsai (1992).
