MUMBAI: Reed MIDEM, in partnership with Endemol, announced that legendary comedian Jerry Seinfeld, and his production partner Ellen Rakieten (The Oprah Winfrey Show), will be attending MIPCOM this October with their newly created comedy-reality format The Marriage Ref.

Seinfeld is set to treat guests to a special comedy performance at Endemol’s MIPCOM showcase in Cannes.

Seinfeld and Ellen Rakieten will also hold an exclusive press conference hosted by Endemol to answer all press questions about their new show on 6 October at 14:30 in the Esterell Auditorium inside the Palais des Festival.

The Marriage Ref is already a major prime time commission for NBC in the USA and is scheduled to launch in 2010, Sundays at 8pm as a lead out after the Winter Olympics.

Endemol is the exclusive distributor of the format across all platforms outside of the USA and will produce local versions of the show around the world. Endemol will also globally distribute the NBC series, which is being Executive Produced by Jerry Seinfeld and Ellen Rakieten.

The Marriage Ref marks the iconic comedian’s first television series since Seinfeld ended its record-breaking nine year run in May 1998.
