Jude Law, Jane Seymour, Neve Campbell, Monica Cruz to attend MIPCOM

Mumbai: Cannes will bustle with a flock of international TV and film stars at the 24th edition of MIPCOM next month.

Two committed actors will attend MIPCOM to promote issue-driven documentaries. British actor Jude Law travelled to Afghanistan with compatriot Jeremy Gilley, the director of the The Day After Peace, a BBC/Passion Pictures/Peace One Day production, distributed by 3DD Entertainment. American star Adrian Grenier  is the executive producer of Alter Eco, the environment-themed documentary series produced and distributed by GRB Entertainment.

German actor Sebastian Koch, Canadian actress Neve Campbell, British actor Stephen Campbell Moore and British director Mike Barker will be at MIPCOM to present Jack London’s Sea Wolf, a TV event miniseries produced by Tele München/Clasart in association with Gate Filmproduktion with ZDF and RHI, distributed by Tele München new sales arm, TMG International.

British actress and former Bond girl Jane Seymour will be in Cannes to introduce Prudence McCoy, the main character of Dear Prudence, a TV movie distributed by ITV Global Entertainment Ltd., produced by Alexander/Mitchell Productions in association with Granada America for Hallmark.

The new generation of Spanish talent including Monica Cruz, Miguel Angel Munoz will participate in the Focus on Spain at MIPCOM.

From down under, Australian actors Diana Glenn and Tony Poli will be at MIPCOM to promote Carla Cametti PD, a new crime drama series from Buon Giorno Productions, developed with the assistance of SBS Television, Screen Australia and Film Victoria and distributed by SBS Content Sales.

Among crime drama series, Taggart is one of the longest running on British television. It will celebrate its 25th birthday at MIPCOM in the presence of the main cast, Blythe Duff (D.S. Jackie Reid), John Michie (D.I. Robbie Ross), Alex Norton (D.C.I. Matt Burke) and Colin McCredie (D.C. Stuart Fraser). Taggart is produced by Scottish Television Enterprises and distributed by Target.

Successful formats are launched every year at MIPCOM. This year, Benjamin Castaldi, a popular French TV host and producer, will present the French version of Beat Your Host, a Raab TV/Brainpool format distributed by Germany’s SevenOne International. And the mentalist Uri Gelle, will also be in town to support another hit from the German distributor, The Successor. He will be accompanied by the new Houdini, escape artist David Merlini, whose shows on TV are attracting viewers.

Natalia Mogilevskaya, singer, musical producer of Fabryka Zirok, the Ukrainian version of Star Academy, Masha Efrosinina, TV-Host, who presented Eurovision 2005 and Lama, a pop/rock band that got the Best Ukrainian act award of MTV Europe Music Awards 2007 will attend MIPCOM for the first time at the Ukraine d’Azur Party, a special event organized by Media Resources Management and the Industrial TV Committee to present the Ukrainian TV market.
