Mumbai: Imax Corporation and DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. has announced that Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa will open domestically on November 7 in a record 130 Imax announce including 35 new locations equipped with Imax’s digital projection system, in conjunction with the film’s nationwide release. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is the second of five DreamWorks Animation films slated for release in Imax theatres from June 2008 to May 2010.
The film will also open in 30 Imax theatres internationally during the days and weeks following the domestic launch. Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa has been digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The Imax Experience with Imax DMR technology.

Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa joins four other DreamWorks Animation movies previously announced and slated for release in Imax’s format, including Kung Fu Panda, as well as the studio’s first three 3D titles, Monster vs. Aliens (March 2009), How to Train Your Dragon (March 2010) and Shrek Goes Fourth (May 2010).
