Mumbai: Independent filmmaker and composer Melvin Van Peebles will debut his newest film Confessionsofa Ex-Doofus-ItchyFooted Mutha, which is set to premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on 27 April and has been chosen as one of six ‘most-noted’ films at the event by Downtown Express, a New York City newspaper.

Confessionsofa… is a tale of adventure, but first and foremost, it is a love story, a funky picaresque comedy filled with wily ruminations of our pilgrim alternating with epic action-bites as the hero stumbles through life. The film is said to be an oxymoron of emotions — boisterous, joyous and sublimely tender at one moment, then hilarious and street-wise the next.

This is the latest film for Van Peebles (as director, writer and composer) since the release of Le Conte du ventre plein (also known as Bellyful) in 2000.
