Mumbai: Mindy Moore Borman has been named executive producer of the new syndicated series DR. OZ (working title) from Harpo Productions and Sony Pictures Television, starring Dr. Mehmet Oz, which will premiere next fall. It was also announced that the show will be produced in New York, in high definition (HD).
"Mindy has terrific ideas, boundless creativity and a true passion for health and wellness. She has an innate sense of how to help make Dr. Oz a magnetic daily show that will entertain people and enhance their lives," said Harpo Productions president Tim Bennett.
"Dr. Mehmet Oz is someone I believe in wholeheartedly," said Borman. "He delivers hopeful and impactful information and has a deep connection with the audience, as seen through his appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show and his many best-selling books. I am thrilled to be spearheading the launch of his show with Harpo and Sony."
Borman is a veteran producer of numerous daytime and primetime television series including high profile shows such as The View, Good Morning America, and Big Brother (Season 5). A seasoned and highly-respected producer, Borman has developed and launched a wide variety of shows for network, cable and syndicated television. Borman has also served as vice president, Alternative Development for Fox Television Studios.
Borman garnered one Emmy Award from two nominations during her highly successful tenure on the top-rated series, The View, another Emmy nomination for her work as an editorial producer at Good Morning America for "Coverage of a Live News Event, Yitzak Rabin Funeral Coverage," and a fourth for her work on Later with Bob Costas.
Dr. Mehmet C. Oz, MD, better known to millions as Dr. Oz will debut his first-run syndicated series next year, an entertaining and informative multi-topic, hour-long health and wellness talk show. The series, DR. OZ has been cleared in over 80% of the country to date. Packed with the latest health headlines, medical breakthroughs and inspiring stories, DR. OZ will feature important information that impacts your life in areas including weight loss, nutrition, staying young, looking your best, relationship issues, fitness, money, parenting, intimacy and handling conflict and stress.
