MTV to host DigiFest with Digital Hollywood

MUMBAI: Viacom’s MTV Networks will partner with Digital Hollywood to host MTVN DigiFest, an exclusive screening of world premiere and original digital content acquired or commissioned by Comedy Central, mtvU and AtomFilms.

Immediately following the screening, MTVN executives will join independent filmmakers for a roundtable discussion and Q-n-A session on the ongoing re-definition of the creative content development and distribution process.

The event will be held at the Digital Hollywood Fall conference on Tuesday, 30 October at 5p.m. (PT) in the Conference Tent at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel in Hollywood, CA.

From linear television, across the web, into wireless, broadband and beyond, the media industry has exploded into a new era of innovation and access, and the barriers to entry for aspiring content creators are lower than ever. As a result, MTV Networks’ brands are collaborating with more independent filmmakers.

MTVN DigiFest will feature several of these amateur and professional filmmakers, along with MTVN programming and digital media executives including Digital Media’s Executive Vice President, Erik Flannigan, for the MTVN Entertainment Group; Comedy Central, Senior Vice President, Original Programming and Development, Lou Wallach; mtvU, Senior Vice President and Head of Programming, Ross Martin and AtomFilms’ Vice President and General Manager, Scott Roesch.
