MUMBAI: Leslie Urdang has been named president of Santa Monica based Olympus Pictures, LLC, a motion picture company formed in 2007 to both develop and produce feature films.
Urdang was formerly senior vice president – producer.
Under Urdang’s leadership, Olympus has had a strong start completing two feature films, both which have been featured at major film festivals.
Olympus has several projects in development including an untitled project inspired by the life of Selema Masekela and written by Steven Rivele and Christopher Wilkenson; the sci-fi thriller Spin with co-producer Rob Morrow and Peony, an adaptation of the Pearl S. Buck book by Jeannine Dominy with Joe Roth and Stephen Scharf. Olympus also recently announced a theatrical distribution option agreement with Cinedigm Digital Media Corporation.
Prior to joining Olympus, Urdang founded Serenade films that produced Twelve And Holding, The Great New Wonderful, Game 6 and The Narrows. Other producing credits include A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Me And Veronica, People I Know.
