Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds nominated for 2010 Grammy Award

MUMBAI: Quentin Tarantino’s Inglourious Basterds has been nominated for a 2010 Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For A Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media.

 

The album, which was released by Warner Bros. Records on 18 August, is the original soundtrack to Tarantino’s acclaimed WWII-themed film Inglourious Basterds, starring Brad Pitt.

 

 

Each song was carefully hand-picked by Tarantino to amplify the scenes in the film. As he told the New York Times, “I’m looking for stuff that you haven’t heard a gazillion times before.”

 

 

The Inglourious Basterds DVD will be released on 15 December . The film, was screened at the Cannes Film Festival, where Christoph Waltz took home the Best Actor prize. It is set in the first year of the German occupation of France.

 

 

The Grammy Awards will be handed out at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on 31 January, 2010.
