Rain hinders National Treasure sequel shoot

MUMBAI: Mount Rushmore was dropped as a location for the upcoming sequel to National Treasure after weather forecasts called for rain on the day of shooting, reports www.Hollywood.tv founder Sheeraz Hasan.


The scheduled scenes were canceled and scenes scheduled for Sunday were rescheduled for 27 April 2007, following the National Weather Service forecast that there was a 50 per cent chance of rain for the day. Approximately 200 of the extras’ cast in and around the Rapid City area were sent home.


National Treasure: Book of Secrets, the sequel to the 2004 movie starring Nicholas Cage, and is scheduled to hit theatres this December.


The sequel, which also features Diane Kruger, Jon Voight and Harvey Keitel, has Cage returning as treasure hunter Ben Gates, who this time has found 18 missing pages of John Wilkes Booth’s diary. Using it as his guide, Gates attempts to unravel the truth behind the 1865 assassination of President Abraham Lincoln, adds Hasan
