Reed MIDEM appoints Laurine Garaude as TV division director

MUMBAI: Reed MIDEM has appointed Laurine Garaude as the company’s Television Division director, effective immediately. She will have direct management responsibility for Reed MIDEM’s television and digital content events MIPTV, MIPDOC, MIPCOM and MIPJunior.

Garaude joined Reed MIDEM in 1993 to launch MILIA, the world’s interactive content market, which she ran for over 10 years before the unification of MILIA and MIPTV. In 2004, she was named Reed MIDEM’s director of Customer Relationship Marketing and Product Development, a post she held until January 2009, when she became the company’s acting Television Division director.

"Laurine is an excellent manager with extensive knowledge of the television and digital industries and great experience here at Reed MIDEM. She understands how the entertainment industry is evolving and how our shows and services must continue to evolve to benefit our clients," said Reed MIDEM CEO Paul Zilk.

As acting Television Division director during the past year, Garaude oversaw the introduction of a number of new initiatives including the October launch of the Online Screenings, which made the entire MIPJunior 2009 programme catalogue available for viewing by buyers via Internet, as well as the Games2TV2Games Summit. Garaude has also been active in the upcoming launch of MIPFormats, a new one-day conference and format pitching event that will take place 11 April, as a precursor to MIPTV 2010, in Cannes.

Prior to joining Reed MIDEM, Garaude worked in the publishing and music industries, starting her career as a radio producer in the United States, before moving into book publishing at St. Martin’s Press Inc. in New York. In 1989 she joined Editions Nathan in Paris, France, as acquisitions and co-productions editor.
