Robert Kessel named SVP – production for Matt Tolmach Productions

MUMBAI: Robert Kessel has been named senior vice president of production for Matt Tolmach Productions.
 


In his new role, Kessel will work closely with Tolmach to oversee the development and production of the company’s slate of films.
 


Tolmach said, “Though I only met Robert earlier this year, I’d known of him for a long time.  He is well respected for his great taste, extensive skills, and relationships with filmmakers. He is going to be a tremendous asset to our company and I’m thrilled to have him on my team.
 
”

Since becoming a producer late last year, Tolmach has been busy producing  The Amazing Spider-Man directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield, and acquiring material to develop including Frankenstein, The Slackfi Project, and Kitchen Sink.
 


Kessel most recently served as Overture Films executive vice president Production & Acquisitions.  While there, Kessel oversaw the production of many films including Let Me In, and the acquisitions of such films as The Visitor, and Sunshine Cleaning .  Prior to joining Overture, Kessel was a partner and production head for seven years at Hart Sharp Entertainment, where he oversaw production and development for numerous high profile projects including John Madden’s Proof, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins.
