Mumbai: Star announced several key appointments to enhance its programming and content function.
Bonny Yu has been named programming vice president, XING KONG, Star’s flagship Mandarin general Entertainment channel for Mainland China. Jennifer Batty has been appointed Star World programming vice president. Jyotsna Viriyala has been named Star World India and Star Movies India programming vice president.
The three newly appointed Programming VPs spearhead scheduling, acquisition, and content strategies for their respective channels. Yu and Batty are based in Hong Kong and Viriyala is based in Mumbai. Batty reports to entertainment president Todd Lituchy, while Yu reports to Lituchy and Star China CEO Jack Gao. Viriyala reports to Star Movies programming VP Batty and Brian Lau.

Yu joined Star from the Walt Disney Company, where she served for nearly three years as Asia Pacific programming vice president.
Jennifer joined Star from European broadcaster Viasat, where for the last three years she served as Pay TV, programme director, channel development and was Factual Pay TV programming head.
Viriyala joined Star from Media Content and Communication Services (India) where she was Assistant VP, overseeing research, business strategies, operations and on-air promotions.
