MUMBAI: Star, TrueVisions and GMM Media have entered into a three-party joint venture for CHANNEL [V] Thailand, the music and youth entertainment channel targeted at Thailand’s youth market.
Star will hold a 49% stake in the joint venture while TrueVisions, Thailand’s leading pay-TV operator, and GMM Media, Thailand’s leading multi-media group, will hold 26% and 25% respectively. The new partnership follows the channel’s previous partner, Live Incorporation Public Company, divesting its share in the channel.
Star, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Development, Anthony Day commented, “It’s terrific to have TrueVisions and GMM Media onboard. Vibrant locally produced programming has maintained an enthusiastic following making the channel Thailand’s first and last destination for music and youth culture for some years now.
