Star Wars saga to be converted to 3D

MUMBAI: The Star Wars saga will soon be converted to 3D as announced by Lucasfilm. Work is under way on converting the Star Wars saga to 3D.

All six films will get theatrical re-release in stereoscopic, starting with Episode I: The Phantom Menace, which will release in 2012.

Though the exact date for release has not yet been confirmed, news is that the film will open close to day and date worldwide.

The films will be distributed by 20th Century Fox. The conversion is being done by outside vendors and overseen by Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light & Magic visual effects supervisor John Knoll.
