Mumbai: Warner Music UK (WMUK) and Tesco announced that MP3 music audio downloads from Warner Music will be available from this week to Tesco Digital customers in the UK.
As part of the agreement, Tesco and Warner Music will provide a range of digital music products including premium album bundles that contain additional content such as rare tracks, remixes, interactive booklets and videos. To coincide with the new offering, Tesco Digital will launch an online marketing campaign across the website to promote the availability of Warner Music content.
Warner Music UK senior vice president commercial and operations Alan Young said "Our agreement will deliver an extended range of feature-rich digital products to Tesco.com’s customer-base. We look forward to working with Tesco Digital to explore ways to combine the digital and physical distribution of music".
Warner Music International vice president digital business Eric Daugan said "We believe that giving music fans the ability to play the tracks they purchase on any device will help drive the growth of digital downloads and the evolution of new music experiences. This deal further expands Tesco Digital’s platform, benefits consumers and provides new opportunities for our established and up-and-coming artists."
Tesco commercial director Graham Harris commented, "The new Tesco Digital site aims to be an exciting and easy-to-use entertainment shop that Tesco customers of all ages and technical ability can use and trust. Our comprehensive music offering will be enhanced by this deal with Warner Music."
