MUMBAI: Universal Republic Records has promoted Tom Mackay to executive vice president of A&R. Formerly, he served as senior vice president of A&R for the label.
In this expanded role, Mackay will be responsible for securing and cultivating new talent in all genres of music for the label. Mackay will continue to be based in New York City and will report directly to Universal Republic Records president and CEO Monte Lipman and Universal Republic Records co-president and COO Avery Lipman.
"Tom is an extremely gifted A&R executive who has demonstrated in every way his commitment to our artists and their music. He has an amazing ear for talent and possesses invaluable creative insight, nurturing our diverse roster and helping to forge Universal Republic into a vital and powerful musical force," said Monte Lipman.

Mackay began his A&R career at Universal Records, serving as vice president of the department.
