Mumbai: Vertu has appointed Michelle Yeoh as its brand ambassador. The star of The Mummy 3, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Memoirs of a Geisha, Bond girl, film producer and patron to international charities will work with Vertu on a number of new initiatives over the next year.
Vertu president Alberto Torres said, "Yeoh’s talent, determination and achievements, from award winning actress and producer to committed support of arts, culture and worthy causes, make her the embodiment of Vertu – success, strength, and style. She has a natural fit as a Vertu ambassador."
The announcement coincides with the release of the Vertu Constellation Rococo Collection, inspired by the intricate, handcrafted techniques of the Rococo period, which was developed by craftspeople and noted for its decorative arts. Each leather back has been embroidered with colored metallic threads to create a floral design, which brings to life the hallmark Vertu ‘V’.
Yeoh added, "It’s a real honor to be chosen as a brand ambassador for Vertu because I love everything about the phones they make, especially the new Rococo collection. The quality is fantastic, the design is beautiful and the colors work well with just about any outfit. I take my Rococo with me wherever I go, whether it’s on the set, the red carpet or just out shopping! To me it’s the ultimate accessory."
The Vertu Constellation Rococo handset is available currently in Noir, Scarlet and Ivory and an exclusive Sapphire edition, adorned with natural blue Cabochon sapphires and a hand-polished bezel engraved with the intricate floral pattern, will be released on 1st August.
