Winona Ryder’s wild rides

The
American actress has revealed she was beaten up and taunted by bullies who said she looked like a boy when she was at middle school. However, Winona got her own back years later when one asked her for an autograph and she told her to “go f**k yourself”.

The 34-year-old star told Ticket newspaper: “I was wearing an old Salvation Army shop boy’s suit. As I went to the bathroom I heard people saying, ‘Hey, faggot’. They slammed my head into a locker. I fell to the ground and they started to kick the s**t out of me. I had to have stitches.

The school kicked me out, not the bullies. “Years later, I went to a coffee shop and I ran into one of the girls who’d kicked me, and she said, ‘Winona, Winona, can I have your autograph?’ And I said, ‘Do you remember me? Remember how, in seventh grade, you beat up that kid?’ And she said, ‘Kind of’. And I said, ‘That was me. Go f*** yourself’.”

In 2002, Winona was convicted of grand theft and vandalism, and around a month after the conviction the depressed star was put on suicide watch. The Mermaids actress is now re-launching her career and is currently promoting new movie A Scanner Darkly, which also stars Keanu Reeves.
