Anup Jalota launches new album

MUMBAI: The legend of devotional music, Anup Jalota launched his new album Krishna- Teri Baansuri with Das Music at Cinemax. Singer Anuradha Paudwal was the chief guest. The album, which comprises eight bhajans has been written by Anup Jalota.

Says Jalota, “The market for this kind of music is huge and will never die. I do playback but for commercial cinema. I was looking out for a fresh voice, which will suit my compositions. Shivangi Raj Luthara, my student, has sung the songs with me.”

Shivangi hails from Kanpur where she owns a training academy. “Anupji is like my father. This is my first break and I am thrilled.” Currently she is focusing on devotional music but says will consider playback as an option only if Jalota tells her to.

Das Music managing director Dhianu Das says, “It’s great to be associated with Anup Jalota. This album will do well as the songs are targeted at the youth too.”

About his further plans, Das adds, “We are coming up with two Bhojpuri films as well. Our main target is regional music right now. We are doing a mainstream comedy film as well, which will release this November.”
