BIG FM, MTV join hands for chartbusters

MUMBAI: BIG FM Delhi has inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with MTV. BIG FM will share MTV’s songs content and permission to use them as a source for the radio station’s 100 chartbusters.

MTV will also share its song play-out data on a weekly basis and will get accreditation for it. BIG FM introduced the 100 chartbusters format that includes songs that have been ranked and rated as the top 100 in Delhi.

The radio station plays the top 100 songs ranked as per the weekly chartbuster ranking model, where the top 100 songs are ranked week-on-week and a refreshed play-list is put into place.

Big FM station director Punit Mathur said, “We tied up with MTV as it is the most credible source of music. It is the number one music channel that targets the youth.”

Apart from MTV, the data is also gathered from ringtone downloads on mobile phones, which is a strong indicator to gauge music popularity; music album sales from Music World and other music stores; weekly call-out research of the new song release.
