MUMBAI: Music director Shantanu Moitra has been roped in as the music director for Munnabhai series director Rajkumar Hirani’s next film starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Moitra upcoming releases for which he has provided the compositions are Yash Raj Films’ next Lagaa Chunari Mein Daag and Sudhir Mishra’s Khoya Khoya Chand.
Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Moitra says, “Though we’ve not yet locked in the kind of music we will be settling in for Rajkumar’s next, the only thing that’s final is that it will be very youth centric. Moreover, I have never done anything on those lines before. My music is very classical and if the story demands, it has a modern twist. However, I don’t plan to compose disco songs.”
He believes Lagaa Chunari Mein Daag has a good blend of every sort. “Some songs have got the lounge and retro feel, while the others have the classical touch. We have tried to create those complex tones in one of the songs, which are rarely used,” states Moitra.
