Post Dhamaal, writer Paritosh bags 4 films

MUMBAI: Paritosh Painter, who hails from a theater background, has met with success in his first attempt as a scriptwriter for the recent hit, Dhamaal. And now he has bagged four new film projects, of which two are with the director of Dhamaal, Indra Kumar.

The two-film deal with Indra Kumar has been inked for Rs 6 million (Rs 60 lakhs) of which one project will include the sequel to Dhamaal. Painter will be the scriptwriter and dialogue writer for these films, along with Balwinder Suri.

Speaking to Businessofcinema.com, Painter says, “The other film with Induji will be a comedy too. I don’t want to experiment with another genre right now. We will be working on the script soon; nothing has been decided as of now.”

Plans for Dhamaal 2 seem big. Adds the scriptwriter, “Our aim is to be bigger and better. We might go international with the plot and extend the star cast like have five girls opposite the guys. We are also looking at an established actor for the sequel.”

Apart from this, he will be scripting Kya Luck Hain Yaar produced by Balaji Motion Pictures to be directed by Raj Kanwar and Jai Jai Money produced by Sachin Bajaj. “They haven’t zeroed in on the star cast as yet. The films are still on the script level,” states Painter.

The theatre man now wants to experiment with another style of comic subject for his next stage act. He says, “All my plays are comedy centric, but now it’s time to take it on another level. I haven’t thought of anything as yet, but will do something soon.”
