Malayalam film industry’s heartthrob actor Dulquer Salmaan is creating rage with back-to-back hits with quite some time now. The Bangalore Days actor took to his official Facebook page to share a childhood photo of him where he is sitting beside none other than Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan!
Dulquer who is the son of Malayalam megastar Mammootty has cinema in his roots and taking good advantage of his opportunity, little Dulquer asked his father to take him to meet Big B. After which Dulquer shared the amazing story where he had breakfast with Mr. Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan had recently posted about Dulquer’s blockbuster film OK Kanmani starring Nitya Menen. This gesture really moved Dulquer as he considers Big B as an idol like many young actors do.
Amitabh Bachchan had written in his blog, “Shweta and I get to see Mani Ratnam’s new and fresh Tamil film at a trial, and it is a sweet and endearing story of love among the young. Fresh and with a sense of the changing times, in keeping with the sensibilities of this generation, it shows compassion and example with great dexterity.”
An excited Dulquer Salmaan had been searching for his long lost picture with Big B, and when he finally did, the young’un posted it on Facebook and wrote, “I’ve been searching for this pic for sometime. Mr Bachchan is the one celebrity I wanted a picture with. I remember requesting my father to please take me to get a picture with him. So during the AMMA show 1995 early one morning vappichi loaded his SLR camera with some black and white film and drove me to Taj Malabar. Mr Bachchan was eating his breakfast and offered me some idlis. Though I had already eaten I couldn’t say no to him. So while two of my ultimate superstars sat and discussed films and life, I sat between them and ate a plate full of idlis. My life has come full circle now. When The Amitabh Bachchan himself wrote about OK Kanmani ! Thank you sir for the kind words. Thank you for always inspiring us with your performances, accomplishments and every obstacle you have faced and overcome !”
The Piku star had earlier blogged about Mammootty and Dulquer where he wrote, “Values are not lost in the practices that this generation may desire, but sufficient understanding on both parts is beautifully portrayed by two young performers who play the lead. They are a delight to watch – the boy, Mammootty’s son, Mammootty the mega star of Malayalam Cinema in Kerala and equally a sprightly love interest in his opposite number a young lady of enormous verve.”
All the three actors are successfully delivering good performances in Indian cinema and are currently working on their respective projects. Amitabh Bachchan will next be seen in Jewel of India, Mammootty is working on his film ‘Acha Din’ and his son Dulquer will appear next in Smuggler.
