[tps_footer]Rang De Basanti actor Siddharth Suryanarayan (known only as Siddharth) will be seen in 25 getups for the first time in the Kollywood movie ‘Kaaviya Thalaivan‘
The soon-to-be released film which literally means Epic Ruler, is dedicated towards the rich tradition of Tamil Nadu of the 1930s.
Niranjani Agathiyan, the costume designer of the film found it painful to design costumes because the movie is a period movie. She stated that she had to refer to old movies, books and had to literally stay in the library since there were no references available because of the unique Siddharth–Prithviraj starrer. However, seeing that her work is well appreciated, she is more than pleased with her work.
The music by A.R. Rahman in the film has such huge a support of Kollywood and its’ fans that it was on the top of i-tunes charts.
The film is written and directed by Vasanthabalan. Based in the early 20th century, the movie portrays the lives of two theatre artistes played by Siddharth and Prithviraj and the competition that exists between them inspite of a small drama group. The latter being the antagonist in the film, the former plays the main lead.
The role of actress Vedhicka is inspired by the stage artist and singer K. B. Sundarambal whereas Nassar plays the role of a guru to these actors.
Anaika Soti of Satya 2 will also be seen in the lead role in the film.
