Bigg Boss 8: How Was The Premiere Fared?

Bigg-Boss-8-04[tps_footer]Bigg Boss 8 took off and yes that’s what the channel called its premiere yesterday. Salman Khan clad in glittering blue pilot attire began the proceedings of a show which is nothing more than a sham but is a surefire success. People always take sadist pleasure in enjoying two fighting cocks and in this case, there are humans involved. The fun gets 8 times better. Isn’t it? Anyway, here’s what we felt about the first episode.

It is a mammoth task to look, spot, analyse and prefer celeb contestants every year. And this is the 8th time the channel is doing its job. Not surprised that half of the celebs can’t even be called half-celebs. Bigg Boss definitely helps us brush our memory about people whom we safely forgot for obvious reasons.

But to begin from the beginning, Salman definitely shook his legs on the medley of his recent hits and looked quite the charmer. Like always, he looked better in the show than his last ‘Kick’. And thank God Colors employs his services for the show or there will be no one interested to watch two strangers fighting over spilled shampoo (Generally the spat topics are as trivial as that).

Quick enough, the first contestant enters Sonali Raut. She is one of the two warring starlets from Himesh Reshammiya’s The Xposé which exposed the dubious preferences of India’s film viewing public. She was followed by Karishma Tanna, a TV actress, who became the first two waiting list ladies for the aeroplane themed Bigg Boss this year. They were followed by Upen Patel. Who? Well, it is difficult to remind you about a person you might not want to remember. But well, we will tell you…but never mind.

TV Vamp Soni Singh entered next followed by Arya Babbar. Oho…don’t ask who’s he too? Raj Babbar’s son, who came many baras ago. To keep the Sapna Bhavani legacy alive, Diandra Soares entered the house. Expect some fiery exchanges with Salman in one of the coming episodes. They are supposedly the ones who are uncaring about Salman and his stature in the industry.

A homosexual candidate was missing here and so enters Mr. Gay India 2014- Sushant Divgikar. Funny how a real gay man behaves in the stereotypical way of Hindi films project. Guess now we know where the inspiration lies. Telly’s new Shakuni Praneet Bhatt entered followed by Natasha Stankovic who’s claim to Bigg Boss fame was her resemblance to Katrina Kaif, perhaps. Then came Minissha Lamba, the actress who romanced from Jimmy Sheirgill to Ranbir Kapoor to Kunal Kapoor before she went missing from Bollywood skies.

Now there is also a secret society which will have three people, a RJ, a socialite and actor-director. They will be safe from elimination and have the power to dictate terms to the contestants.

Post the 90 minutes of this reality show, all we could feel was ‘meh’.
