TOP MOMENTS24082013

MUMBAI: ‘Chennai Express’ doesn’t seem to slow down its pace. In it’s third week the film has broken many records and has earned Rs 2 Billion at the box-office. It’s the biggest highlight of the week. Bollywood meanwhile also had several happy moments to celebrate:

‘Chennai Express’ Refuses To Slow: Shah Rukh Khan has left no stone unturned to ensure the success of ‘Chennai Express’. So much that, the success of the film has irked Ekta Kapoor and affected the collections of ‘Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara’. In its third week, the SRK starrer has made more than Rs 2 Billion at the box-office, his biggest release for Shah Rukh Khan in recent times and his biggest hit ever post ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’. But this time it’s Rohit Shetty ishtyle! And he celebrated with a party with the stars!

Salman Celebrates: Salman Khan might not have a single release this year and has his calendar packed for 2014. But the actor merrily reigns in 25 years of stardom in Bollywood. From playing the quintessential romantic in ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ to the super-cool cop in ‘Dabangg’, Salman Khan has achieved name, fame and the loved ‘bhai’ tag. Somehow controversies have followed him along the way, but a star isn’t a star without the media backlash right?

Aishwarya Arrives: It has been a while since one saw Aishwarya Rai Bachchan making an appearance. But at a recent event, the beauty queen now super-mom was spotted making statements of her much awaited comeback. The actress refuses to make comments on her supposed item number in ‘Ram Leela’ for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but she does say she is signing some films and will come back to acting soon. Fans await the royal lady’s presence as eagerly as us!

Celebrating Half Century: Bollywood’s first female superstar, Sridevi reigned in her 50th birthday and the entire Bollywood (more or less) was present to wish the lady on her birthday. From husband Boney Kapoor and the entire family, to Sridevi’s 80’s and 90’s competitors, the likes of Hema Milini, Juhi Chawla, Shilpa Shetty, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor and the young brigade of actors, all were present.

So with heavy celebrations in Bollywood this week, the week has truly ended on a high. Until next time…
