Gunday is the story of two friends – Bikram (Ranveer Singh) and Bala (Arjun Kapoor). They grow up from being small time wagon breakers and coal thieves, to becoming the biggest and most powerful coal mafia men.
These two orphan refugees are displaced by the India-Bangladesh partition in 1971. The film has a distinct retro look. The teaser trailer, unveiled on Thursday, November 21, 2013 has a distinct voice of Irrfan Khan. Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor look super-hot, with their sexy and chiseled bodies – and have that perfect tan to go with it. The raw and grungy PIN-UP boys are back!

The teaser has all the ingredients of a potboiler, with equal amount of action, colors and dance. The only thing missing is romance! Which, might be the factor why the friends will have a rift, and would eventually become enemies.
Priyanka Chopra does not feature in Gunday teaser. But, she’s not missed, as both, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor are enough for women to go weak on their knees.
Katrina Kaif was initially approached for the role of Nandini in Gunday, but she had date issues. Finally, the role went to Priyanka Chopra. The film also features Irrfan Khan and Sushant Singh Rajput in cameos.
Large part of the film has been shot in Kolkata, and the rest in YRF Studios in Mumbai. During filming in Kolkata, old native professionals were hired to create the set for Durga Puja song sequence under the Howrah Bridge, to give it a realistic 1980’s look.
Gunday has been produced by Yash Raj Films, is written and directed by Ali Abbas Zafar. The film is scheduled to release on February 14, 2014.
