MUMBAI: UTV Motion Pictures has released the trailer of their much awaited ‘Himmatwala’, co-produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Vashu Bhagnani, and directed by Sajid Khan.
‘Himmatwala’ starring Ajay Devgn, Tamannaah Bhatia amongst an ensemble cast has its story based on the eponymous 1983 blockbuster hit. However, the filmmaker Sajid says its quite different from the original.
The trailer takes you straight back to the swinging 80’s, when heroines tore off a piece of their dupatta to tie the bleeding hands of their hero! Ajay Devgn seems to be re-channeling his ‘Son of Sardaar’ times – he is shown to singularly take on a mob of around 50 men with just two bells from the temple. The retro costumes, old world dialogues and a giant tiger, it couldn’t get any more 80’s!
The trailer promises to you, a typical Sajid Khan brand of film (where you enjoy wholeheartedly, with your brain of course left where its meant to be – at home!). Over the top hilarious dialogues, some heavy duty action and a lot of synchronized dancing, that’s what you can watch out for!
The glimpse of ‘Ta thaiya Ta thaiya’ makes you want to see more of the beautiful actress – Tamannaah sizzling in her barely there yellow saree.
The film brings Mahesh Manjrekar in his zone of comfort – that of the anti hero. Paresh Rawal plays the devil’s advocate, and Sonakshi Sinha comes in for a cameo song ‘Thank God it’s Friday’ reminding us completely of Zeenat Aman.
‘Himmatwala’, a full masala entertainer will hit the screens on March 29, 2013.
