The trailer of Tamil film Maya starring actress Nayanthara and actor Aari is out and from the looks of it the trailer seems to be promising. Based on a supernatural theme the horror story revolves around the character of actress Nayanthara and her relation with a little girl. Maya is a women-centric film which makes it all the more special for actress Nayanthara who is definitely one of the front runners in south Indian film industry.
Maya’s official trailer gives us a back story of a village called Mayavanam which is based far away from the city. Actor Aari reaches the location following his curiousity after reading a book which states that years ago, the place used to be a mental hospital. Now in ruins, the place situated among forest area is totally abandoned and people who have visited the place believe that there is some evil spirit lurking around it. The film promises some jump scares as well and by looking at the trailer, the back story of the film certainly is interesting.

Nayanthara took to her official Twitter handle to share the trailer and wrote, “And all ready.. Here it is #MayaTheMovie official trailer Shez gonna #Scare you” The actress was supported by fellow industry stars Suriya and Priya Anand among others. Suriya with whom she has worked with in Masss was quite impressed with the trailer and same goes for actress Priya Anand as well.
Directed and written by Ashwin Saravanan, Maya is produced by Potential Studios. It is set to release under the banner of Shri Thenandal Films and T.S. Suresh has done the editing. Other than this, Nayanthara also has an impressive list of films in her kitty including NaanumRowdy Dhaan, Idhu Namma Aalu, Thani Oruvan, Kashmora and Thirunaal.
