MUMBAI: Balaji Motion Pictures and Phantom Films have released the first trailer of their upcoming ‘Lootera’. Directed by Vikramaditya Motwane the film is a Bollywood romance drama starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles.
The story of ‘Lootera’ is said to be partly inspired by American author O Henry’s short story ‘The Last Leaf’.
The trailer of the film begins with a conversation between Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh. A series of shots of the duo’s romantic journey together bring a very retro feel set in the 50s.
The music provided by Amit Trivedi is intense, heightening the love story of a couple who cannot survive without each other. Sonakshi Sinha stays true to her perfected traditional look with red bindis, bangles and sarees. Ranveer Singh’s look reminds us of the avatar Ranbir Kapoor’s donned as the most lovable ‘Barfi!’
The gorgeous old world charm of Kolkata and Dalhousie is captured in ‘Lootera’. It is a dazzling mix of style and substance. Produced by Anurag Kashyap, Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Vikas Bahl the film promises to be the epic period romance of 2013. ‘Lootera’ is scheduled to release on July 5, 2013.
