TRAILER REVIEW: Kangana Ranaut The Bollywood QUEEN

[tps_footer]The year 2013 has been a mixed bag for Kangana Ranaut. While on one hand, films like Shootout At Wadala and Krrish 3 performed well at the Box Office, Rajjo failed to impress the masses and sank before even it could surface. However, year 2014 looks promising for this powerhouse performer with her upcoming film Queen.

The trailer of the film is out, and Kangana Ranaut looks a million dollar even though she is totally de-glam.

Queen is an unusual story of a Delhi girl, Rani (Kangana), who is all set to be married, but somehow ends up going for her honeymoon to Amsterdam and Paris all by herself. Now this is very unusual.

The trailer is comical, fun and has an inherent cuteness to it. It is a story simply told and the only thing that’s kept as a secret is the mystery behind her missing husband (Rajkumar Yadav) during their honeymoon to Amsterdam and Paris.

Kangana Ranaut has got into the skin of the character of a typical Delhi girl.  Her accent and her attires like jeans, skirts, kurtas and sweaters make the character more believable, not to miss the handbag that she carries all along.

The actress manages to look very cute and as far as the trailer goes, it belts out a great comic timing, which reminds me of her film Tanu Weds Manu.  The very first scene one the trailer has Rani (Kangana) sitting and crying and Lisa Hayden telling her to chill and have a glass of vine, something that she just readily sips. What we then see are interesting sequences of Rani (Kangana) having a roller coaster ride all by herself.

Queen was premiered at Busan Film Festival in October 2013. Directed by Vikas Bahl and produced by Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwane, the film also stars Lisa Hayden and Rajkumar Rao.

Queen is all set to hit the silver screen on February 28, 2014.[/tps_footer]
