Trailer Review: Samrat & Co. – A Hollywood Rip Off

Samrat 24[tps_footer]Samrat & Co. is Rajshri Productions latest offering, and this one seems to be a direct lift from BBC’s hit television show Sherlock. The similarities are far too many and that’s what’s really disappointing about Samrat & Co.

If this was not enough, Rajeev Khandelwal the main protagonist for Samrat & Co. very happily copies Benedict Cumberbatch, the British actor portraying the character of Sherlock Holmes in the hit series by the same name.

One feels that Rajshri Productions is really trying hard to break away from their magnanimous family drama image, but then what a rip off, that’s so apparent.

While the plot of Samrat & Co. is too close to the film The Hounds Of Baskerville. Rajeev Khandelwal is desperately trying to be cool and stylish, something that does not come naturally to him and does not look good on him.

What’s shocking is the fact that a production house like Rajshri Productions has come up with a film like this.

TAKE A LOOK AT THE TRAILER:

On the other hand, Rajeev Khandelwal hopes that Samrat & Co. does good business and is also loved by the audience.

“The film will rock and I am hoping that it is really loved by the audience. I hope the producer makes money. The best thing is when a film makes money and the audience loves it. Sometimes films make money, but people don’t like it,” Rajeev said.

Directed by Kaushik Ghatak and produced by Sooraj Barjatya‘s cousin Kavita Barjatya, Samrat & Co. stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Madalsa Sharma, Girish Karnad, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Barkha Bisht, Navin Prabhakar, Smita Jaykar and Gufi Paintal in pivotal roles.

Samrat & Co. was initially scheduled for release on May 01, 2014, but will release ahead of schedule on April 25, 2014. The trailer of the movie was recently released.

All in the trailer of Samrat & Co. only leaves us disappointed, now it’s to be seen how the film does at the Box Office.[/tps_footer]
