MUMBAI: Mallika Sherawat recently ditched a dinner with the American President Barack Obama to attend the promotions of her upcoming film ‘Dirty Politics’. Or so she’d like us to believe…
Yes, here is yet another pearl of wisdom in Mallika’s very own words. That she had to skip attending a dinner hosted by the President of the United States of America, as she was needed back in India to promote her upcoming film ‘Dirty Politics’. Moreover, she revealed that this was the “most important film of her career”, hence she made this very tough decision to skip Obama’s dinner party!
Clad in an orange and red checked shirt and jeans, Mallika looked every bit the dutiful actress, standing by her producer K C Bokadia when he needed her the most; doing her utmost best to promote this “important” film.
Flanked by Bokadia on one side and Industrialist and CMD, Bloomberg group, Prafull Saklecha on the other, Mallika was extremely pleased to be at the press con to launch the film.
Mallika naturally had a couple of things to say, having flown in especially from the U.S for this event. Said Mallika: “It is true…I was invited to a dinner in US. I had even confirmed that I was attending it. But then I got a call from K C Bokadia (director) that we have a press meet today. I had to make a decision….For me ‘Dirty Politics’ is the most important film in my life.”
This is not the first time Mallika has been invited by the President. She had reportedly met Obama at a tea party in Los Angeles in 2011. She was also invited for tea with Obama during his Presidential campaign visit in Hollywood last year.
Mallika’s film ‘Dirty Politics’ also stars Om Puri, Jackie Shroff, Anupam Kher and Ashutosh Rana, and is based on the story of nurse Bhanwari Devi.
