MUMBAI: If anything brings back memories of the era gone by, it most certainly was Priyanka Chopra’s attire at the music launch of her refurbished film ‘Deewana Main Deewana’ in Andheri, Mumbai.
Priyanka Chopra seems to have gone back in time, very literally, with her look at the film’s music launch. ‘Deewana Main Deewana’ is a film that was shelved and remade recently. ‘Deewana Main Deewana’ stars Govinda, Priyanka Chopra, Kader Khan, Prem Chopra, Johnny Lever and Shakti Kapoor, and is directed by K. C. Bokadia.
Priyanka seems to have taken the fate of the film to heart, for she was seen in a very outdated white anarkali outfit, and her hair and makeup matched her foray back in time. A long side plait of hair and garish makeup completed her look, and reminded us of the pre-makeover Priyanka. Remember that young beauty pageant winner who entered Bollywood all those years ago? That frumpy, not-so-well-dressed, slightly pudgy one?
Priyanka was accompanied at the music launch by the cast and crew of the film, and by Ila Arun (also disastrously dressed in a bandhini-esque salwar outfit). Johnny Lever was also spotted on stage, launching the film’s music. The film’s hero though, Govinda was conspicuous by his absence.
We certainly hope Priyanka’s digression from her usually perfectly turned out self is a one-time affair. God forbid the early 2000’s Priyanka is back! That would be such a shame indeed, for we absolutely love Priyanka’s usual sense of sophisticated style! Armani, Gucci, Prada and Versace et al!
