MUMBAI: Tips Films’ next movie to go on floors will be the Harman Baweja starrer Abhimanyu (tentative title). Baweja, who debuts in Bollywood with Love Story 2050 in December this year opposite Priyanka Chopra, will play the title role in Abhimanyu.
The movie is slated to go on floors in October in Mumbai with its first schedule spanning 20 days and is being made on a budget of Rs 170 â€“ 180 million (Rs 17 – 18 crores).
Abhimanyu will be directed by Kuki Gulati, who has earlier directed music videos Doorie, Something Something and Jazzy B for Tips.
“Abhimanyu is a sleek action film. To direct the film we needed someone who is technically sound and experienced and Gulati fitted the bill. Alan Amin will be action director,” Tips managing director Kumar Taurani tells Businessofcinema.com.
The film will have three heroines opposite Baweja and Tips is in talks with some of the leading ladies of Bollywood for the same. Two leading ladies and a newcomer will be cast for the roles.
Taurani adds, “The second and major schedule of the film will be shot in January/ February next year. We scouting for apt locations and may shoot either in South Africa, New Zealand, Malaysia or Bangkok.”
